Autonomy

A group’s right to self-government or self-rule. Personal autonomy is the capacity to decide for oneself and pursue a course of action in one’s life.

Independence or freedom, as of the will or one’s actions. Self directing freedom and especially moral independence personal autonomy.

When a group wants to govern itself or a person wants to make independent decisions, they are looking for autonomy.

Autonomy defined autonomy in management basically means allowing a great deal of freedom to make choices in the workplace. “A manager who grants an employee autonomy generally outlines the goal of a project but allows to decide it.
